The 9th print of our 52 Prints Project is here!

This week’s print was taken from our pinboard of ideas in the studio and we've had this phrase on there for a while, waiting for a chance to work it up to a finished piece.

We've really noticed time going fast recently - two young kids and a busy work schedule has made the beginning of this year seem like it's flown and so this phrase is really resonating with us at the minute. So, more than anything this print is a reminder to ourselves to take a beat and be a little more Ferris Bueller with our outlook on life (IFKYK).

The message we wanted to get across is simple and beautiful so knew from the start that it needed to be a bold and minimal piece of typography. So we worked up the type, as always manually adjusting fonts and individual kerning to make parts of the design the perfect amount of awkward and delicious.

Then it was on to colours - as you can see we couldn't stop ourselves when it came to colourways for this print (there are 7 to choose from!) The combinations we've chosen are inspired by American college sports teams. We once visited a great bar in Paris which has an amazing amount of American sports memorabilia on the walls. Think pennants, banners, jerseys and flags. The colourways are always bold and bright but with a great hint to the vintage year that they were first chosen. The colours and the style of typography we'd chosen made a great match.

So, our latest print is an important reminder to all of us to stop looking backwards or forwards because THESE ARE THE GOOD OLD DAYS.
